40 UKM Students Participated in the Canva Grandmaster

BANGI, 23 Apr- Dewangga Delima: Canva Grandmaster event was held at the Auditorium Siswa Pusanika, UKM, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m exhibiting extraordinary skills and hacks in utilizing the Canva software and was a success.


The event was established by Nurdayana Batrisyia Binti Jamal (Faculty Science and Technology) and her team who are students from UKM. This exclusive event, attended by 40 students, was a golden opportunity to discover the incredible benefits and functionalities of Canva.


The event, exclusively designed for students at UKM, provided a unique opportunity for budding designers and content creators to explore the vast potential of Canva. 


Dayana stated that the main objective of the event was to highlight the multiple benefits of the Canva app and how it can be a game changer for UKM students not only for university purposes but also as a job center.


“I established this programme to help students who use basic Canva learn more about Canva Pro. This is incredibly advantageous for students who are intending to work in digital media.” said Dayana.

The highlight of the event was the presence of the esteemed guest speaker, Assyahiddin Muhammad Bin Reza Syahrial, who has a Master in Architecture (University Technology Malaysia, Johor).


With Assyahiddin's guidance, the participants were taken on a transformative journey, discovering the limitless possibilities and advantages that Canva offers.

During the event, Assyahiddin provided facts and examples to illustrate the versatility and user-friendliness of Canva Pro. They emphasized that Canva is not just a design tool but also a powerful platform that enables students to create visually stunning presentations, social media posts, posters, and more, without requiring any prior design experience.

Assyahiddin also mentioned that the event was very beneficial because it equipped students with essential design skills that can greatly enhance their academic and professional work. 


"By utilizing Canva, students can express their ideas in a visually captivating manner, making your projects stand out and leave a lasting impact to the audience” he said.

One of the participants, preferably named anonymous who joined the event said it was definitely a game changer. She mentioned that she uses canva in a daily bases as she was a media student and the program was very useful.


"I learned a lot throughout this event. It made me realise how AI in Canva is. The AI does not take over your creativity; rather, it enhances it. Overall, the programme was useful and mindful" she said.

At the end of the day, the event was a resounding success, thanks to the seamless planning and execution by Dayana and her team.


“Overall, the program went smoothly as planned and my team even received compliments from the participants, ” she said.
