Carbon-Neutrality by 2050

Kano High School was selected for its academic excellence, especially in fields relevant to the program's emphasis on AI, speech synthesis, renewable energy, science, and technology. The aspiration to forge ties with an innovative institution aligns with The National University of Malaysia's dedication to global academic partnerships. As a consequence, the discussions covered carbon-neutrality whereas Japan is actively working to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 through various initiatives.

Carbon neutrality refers to balancing the amount of greenhouse gasses emitted into the atmosphere with an equivalent amount of emissions removed or offset, effectively resulting in a net-zero carbon footprint. Therefore, Japan is actively investing heavily in renewable energy, expanding solar and offshore wind power, and promoting hydrogen as a clean energy source. The country, with relatively low energy self-sufficiency, is working to diversify its energy mix, enhance domestic production capabilities, and reduce reliance on imports. This includes exploring innovative technologies for more sustainable energy solutions and prioritizing advancements in energy efficiency.
