KUALA LUMPUR, 20 May - Pop Mart, China's famous toy retailer, has opened its first store in Malaysia as part of its momentous move to consolidate its global presence.

Pop Mart is a market leader in character-based entertainment and a global champion of designer toy culture.

Pop Mart is known for its extensive collection of Blind Boxes, a sealed package that keeps the contents of the dolls a mystery to their new owners.

Through its network of 350 offline stores and 2,000 robo-shops, Pop Mart is present in more than 23 countries and regions, catering to a diverse audience of cultural pioneers and art lovers, and breaking the stereotype that toys are only for children.

This store is located on the fifth floor of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur shopping mall, which resides at Jalan Bukit Bintang.

Pop Mart first entered Malaysia in early 2021 through cross-border e-commerce, and the company has been cultivating the Malaysian market for the past two years to build a good foundation for local offline stores.

The opening of this new store has attracted a significant number of customers.

Liu Tao, a Chinese student study in Malaysia, said, “As a long-time fan of Pop Mart, I used to visit their stores in China when I wasn't in Malaysia. So I was pleasantly surprised to hear about their expansion to Malaysia. I hope they will come up with unique and distinctive products. I’m looking forward to seeing more creativity and innovation in their Malaysian store.”

“I’ve been following Pop Mart on social media for a while, and their products always catch my eye easily because it’s really cute and creative. Having a physical store here means I can finally see and feel the products in person before making a purchase. And I also heard that there will be a special activity for the opening of the new store, I can't wait to find more amazing dolls to add to my collection,” said Zhao Bing, a freshman from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Choong Hon, a customer who has never been to Pop Mart, said: "This is my first time visiting this store and I must say that the interior design is very attractive and the attention to detail in the craftsmanship of the dolls is also remarkable, I think I will buy one.

To celebrate the opening of the new store, Pop Mart has also introduced a limited-edition product for customers to choose from.
