BANGI,19 DEC- Recently, the Urusetia Pembangunan Sumber Manusia (UPSM) organization, in cooperation with Pertubuhan Kebajikan Islam Malaysia (PERKIM), organized a three-day meaningful voluntary blood donation event at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) starting on December 19.

The staff of the event said: "This event is a volunteer blood donation organized by PERKIM and UPSM Club to increase blood inventory, reserve blood for patients in need of emergency treatment, and provide timely medical support." It’s attracted active participation of students and staff from many different faculties.

The entire process at the event includes registration, consultation, blood donation area management, and logistical support. Students will fill out relevant forms under the guidance of staff, undergo physical health examinations, then enter the blood donation area, and finally receive food and I-stars.

"I hold a Chinese passport and become a touch of Chinese red in the blood donation team. Although we are not in our own country, in this way, we can also contribute to society. I hope the friendship between China and Malaysia will last forever. "Sverdlov, a Chinese international student, replied.

Penguin, a Malaysian Chinese, said, "After learning about the blood donation event, I did some research online, so I ate two slices of bread and drank a bottle of Milo, the national beverage, 2 hours before donating blood. Medical staff care about my condition every second, which makes me feel very warm."

This activity has strengthened the cohesion of the community inside and outside the school and improved the public's awareness of the significance of blood donation.

"I'm in good health, and I exercise regularly. There are often posts on the Internet telling people not to donate blood because donating blood is bad for the body, whether the blood drawing equipment is clean," said Devendra, a Malaysian student. "But you often don't know when an accident will happen. Your blood may save a life. You must trust the medical staff to ensure everyone's health."

Wu Yiwei, a media communication student, said, “This event made me feel the warmth of the UKM family. Even though everyone can only get a piece of bread and a bottle of milk, they are still willing to help people they don’t know without any benefits. Donate blood.”

The event concluded successfully on December 21, and similar events will continue to be held in the future to help students better understand the importance of blood donation and the positive impact this action has on society.
